What are vaping devices?

Electronic cigarettes, or e-cigarettes, include vapes, hookah pens, and JUULs. They are battery-powered devices that heat an e-liquid sometimes called “e-juice” that often contains nicotine. E-cigarettes are inhaled like regular cigarettes and produce an aerosol cloud of nicotine or other substances. They are not proven to be a safer alternative to cigarettes.

Isn’t Vaping Healthier Than Smoking?

The term “Vaping” can incorrectly lead people to believe that using electronic vaporizers produces a harmless water vapor, but in reality these devices produce potentially harmful aerosols that are inhaled into the lungs and exhaled into the environment.

Fun Flavors are used to help attract younger users

Tobacco companies are using flavors to hook kids on using vaping devices. 96% of high school kids in California who vape use flavors.  The flavors are used to make it sound more kid-friendly and to cover up the harsh taste of the tobacco. But in reality, these flavoring chemicals themselves are actually dangerous and can cause damage to the lungs.
